VIP Deluxe Dog Boarding:

Mission: Keep your dog safe, comfortable, entertained and happy

In-home 24-hour dog care is the premiere service at HousePETality Pet Sitting and Dog Boarding.  It’s a home away from home for your beloved dog(s).  The dogs we accept for boarding  have round-the-clock human and canine (Roxie) companionship as well as at least 2 good walk outings/day, meals, snuggles, rides in the car, and playtime in the fenced-in yard.

In other words your dog will be incorporated into our daily activities as if he/she were a member of our little pack.  It’s a doggie sleepover that will ease your pet’s feelings of separation and loss and will give you peace of mind when you have to be away from your companion animal. We take a very small number of guest dogs at a time so that any visiting dog has as much attention as she/he needs to feel at home. We screen the dogs we accept, and carefully consider compatibility and behavioral issues.  Interview required.

  • $55.00/day (24-hour block) for one dog (discount available for visits longer than 2 weeks):
  • Each additional dog (from the same household) costs $25.00/day ($80.00 for 2/ 105.00 for 3).
  • Special rates apply for certain dogs (to be determined upon interview):
    • Dogs under 1 year of age.  Very young dogs (either chronologically or behaviorally immature) require a great deal more attention, activity and supervision.
    • Special needs or geriatric dogs might require medications or special treatment.
    • Oversized dogs (or dogs who don’t have good leash manners) can also pose care-taking challenges.  Since all dogs in our care are taken on 2 long leash walks daily, it is important that all guest dogs are manageable on leash.
    • Puppies: I do not take puppies under 6 months of age, or puppies who are not yet house-broken.
  • Your dogs comfort and happiness is what really matters. To your dog’s way of seeing the world, your departure spells a loss of everything that matters to them. At HousePETality, we’re very cognizant of this and bend over backwards to ease your dog’s transition to a new pack and a new environment. Keeping certain controllable things constant softens the blow: same food, same bowl, same bed and familiar smells. I therefore ask owners to bring your dog’s regular food (and special treats) and bowls and comfortable, familiar bedding and a favorite toy or some object that carries your smell with it.

  1. We wake up in the morning, and all dogs go outside in the fenced-in yard
  2. Then we go for a nice long walk (approximately 30+minutes) in one of the lovely spots nearby
  3. When we return home, I feed the dogs (and then myself)
  4. Then it’s time to hang out.
  5. Mid-day– between noon and 2 p.m– we take another longer walk.
  6. Then we come home and hang out some more and rest and maybe go for a ride in the car
  7. In the late afternoon, I feed the dogs dinner (you bring your own food)
  8. Then we might– weather and daylight permitting– go for another 15 minute walk in the park
  9. Then we all settle in for the evening.  They are welcome to join me in my bedroom and in bed (if that’s appropriate) while I read or work on my computer or watch TV.
  10. Then a final outing in the yard, and it’s time for sleep.

Doggie Day Care:

Day care at HousePETality is a small-scale affair.  Your dog is welcome to join Roxie and whatever other guest dog(s) is visiting at that time.  Full- and half-day dog care is available.  Our time together might include a meal, a walk, playtime in the fenced yard, hanging out, in-house play, etc,  Dogs with aggression issues are not appropriate for this service. Space is limited.  Interview required.

  • Half-day (up to 4 hours):  $30.00
  • Full-day (up to 8 hours):   $45.00

Pickup and delivery are extra.

Day Care is essentially like dog boarding, only for shorter time periods. We don’t organize any official doggie day care groups at HousePETality, so your dog might or might not be the only guest dog that day. Your dog will join whoever is staying at HousePETality at the time– and, of course, Roxie and me.

Why you might need day care for your dog:

  • If you find that you need to be away for a long day, or
  • You are having guests and need your dog not to be a part of it, or
  • You have a deadline that requires your full attention, or
  • You have a really long day scheduled at work, or have to travel for your job
  • You’re having construction work done at home, etc.

There are lots of reasons that come up  that make doggie day care a good idea for your dog.  You can bring your dog over for a day or a half-day– or several daytime blocks during a week– so you can go about doing what you need to do.

Only dogs who are well socialized (and non-aggressive) are appropriate for doggie day care. While your dog is here, he or she will participate in all the regular activities of dog boarding depending on the time of day.

The following services are available only if you live within a 4-mile radius of Sherborn, MA ( the red zone on the service territory map).
