Out of Work and in Need of a Home
Adopt a (Former) Racing Greyhound
Greyhounds are among the sweetest and gentlest dogs on earth! I kid you not. And they’re couch potatoes. Forty mile an hour couch potatoes. They are beautiful, graceful, well-mannered, and did I mention, really sweet? Their speed is legendary, and truly, watching a Greyhound run– out of sheer pleasure– is poetry in motion and a joy to witness.
Now that so many racetracks are closing all over the country (thank heavens!), there are lots of retired racing Greyhounds who are out of work and in need of homes.
Greyhound Friends,Inc. in Hopkinton, MA., is perhaps the first Greyhound rescue in the world! Founded and run by Louise Coleman, Greyhound Friends has a steady population of retired Greyhounds. One of them is just waiting to lounge on a nice, soft doggie bed at your house. Won’t you give a retired racer a first chance at love?
